Afriherp.org is intended as a resource centre for the exchange of information on the herpetofauna of Africa and to promote the study and conservation of the indigenous species of amphibians and reptiles found on the continent of Africa and its islands.

Afriherp.org is designed and maintained by Lynn Raw

Afriherp is a contraction from the words Africa and Herpetofauna. It was originally used for the Afriherp-L list run from the World Conservation Monitoring Centre and managed by Lynn Raw. Lynn Raw asserts copyright to the name “Afriherp” dating from this first use of the name in the early half of the 1990s.
